Europese culturen zijn de basis geweest voor de Westerse beschaving, ondermeer door de Europese kolonisatie van Amerika.

Dus ook die van de Verenigde Staten waar de oorspronkelijke bewoners (Inheemse Amerikanen) werden weggedrukt, en waar momenteel nauwelijks nog plaats is voor vluchtelingen, asielzoekers of andere (im)migranten. Niet welkom.

Waar je in Europa ook bent, altijd zal je gefascineerd zijn door het prachtige culturele erfgoed dat het continent te bieden heeft. In een tocht door Europa zal je ontdekken dat de regio's van Europa door een tumultueuze geschiedenis met elkaar verbonden zijn, maar juist ook dat er een grote diversiteit aan talen en culturen bestaat op een relatief klein oppervlak. Europa behoort tot de meest drukbevolkte gebieden ter wereld, en heeft met onder andere Londen, Parijs en Rome unieke wereldsteden die over de hele wereld bekend zijn. Maar ook voor rust en ongereptheid ben je in Europa op de juiste plaats — denk maar aan de leegte van Scandinavië, de uitgestrekte berggebieden in Zwitserland en de kuuroorden in Centraal-Europa. Bovendien zijn al deze gebieden relatief eenvoudig te bezoeken, omdat toeristische voorzieningen in het werelddeel zeer uitgebreid zijn. Europa biedt voor ieder wat wils!
